NATO's Secret Armies (2009)
In 1990, alarming evidence of NATO-sponsored terrorist attacks came to light. This is the shocking story of Operation Gladio; a tale of espionage, conspiracy and political violence [47mins]
Check out this excellent recent documentary, which has just been posted on the Internet, about Nato’s secret armies that were set up across Western Europe after the Second World War. While these “stay-behind” armies were supposedly intended to help put together a resistance if the Soviet Union invaded their countries, they went on to commit terrorist attacks against their own populations, so as to influence domestic politics.
The documentary describes how, from the late 1960s to the early 1980s, Western intelligence agencies collaborated with right-wing extremist groups to commit false flag terrorist attacks, which would often be falsely blamed on left-wing groups. It features interviews with, among others, Daniele Ganser, author of NATO’s Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe.

Why the U.S. can't inflate its way out of debt
Jeanne Sahadi

NEW YORK — It’s dawning on people that getting a handle on burgeoning U.S. debt will be a long and hard process.
So if lawmakers can’t agree on a credible plan, some have suggested that the country could just “inflate its way” out of its fiscal ditch.
The idea: Pursue policies that boost prices and wages and erode the value of the currency.
The United States would owe the same amount of actual dollars to its creditors — but the debt becomes easier to pay off because the dollar becomes less valuable.

Rewriting history; propaganda
A new Hollywood film that features the 2008 war in South Ossetia has sparked controversy as to whether it is an unbiased portrayal of historical events or another attempt at political propaganda.
First of.
After the war there was a European Union inquiry into the war that concluded that "Georgia ignited the conflict by attacking separatists in South Ossetia, but that Russia had provoked violence in the enclave for years and exploited its consequences. "
That's a direct quote from the international herald tribune from october 1st, 2009
(as a student you can easily apply for a kickass discount subscription to this great newspaper, I really recommend it).
The report finds no evidence that a Russian invasion was under way on Aug. 7, 2008, when Georgia ordered the shelling of the South Ossetian capital, Tskihinvali. It says Georgia broke international law by using force against Russian peacekeepers stationed in the city, and that the Russian Army had legal grounds to defend the peacekeepers. But the report says Russia "went far beyond the reasonable limits of defense" in undertaking a drive outside South Ossetia that violated international law and was "not even remotely commensurate with the threat to Russian peacekeepers."
According to one critic, Danny Schecter, we are “in an age of media grazing”.
“The problem is that often people are going to shorten and shorten news bits,” Schecter told RT. “People are just looking for a little more source of information about things they already know.”
Schecter says this is a problem because it is news industries job to provide information the public is not aware of.
“That sort of defeats the whole aim of the news industry because partly we are here to tell people stuff that they don’t know about,” he says.
Napoleon said; History is written by the winners. But do we really appreciate what he was trying to tell us ?

The other side of hamas
I'm not supporting Hamas, but is there another side to the story that is not being told ? Eric Margolis is an American-born journalist and writer and he brings you this mini documentary.
"Hamas is a national liberation movement." When put under pressure these groups of people tend to turn to terrorism. Look at the history of the Tamils in Sri Lanka (most prolific terrorist organization I believe).
I taped this documentary on terrorism a few weeks ago but I only saw it this weekend. I was hearing about the history of the Tamils while I was seeing these images of armed guys running through the woods and I was thinking too myself. Gee, what a bunch of funking idiots ! What are they doing ?
How can someone ever become so lost. Again, watch the power of nightmares (BBC) !!
Anyway, I love the point that is made that Israel at one time supported Hamas. It's a common tactic as a way to divide your enemy. Lots of the times it backfires however, like in this case.

The Main stream media is painting a dark picture of Iran, whilst Israel and the US are on war footing.
However IAEA has stated that Irans nuclear programs are peaceful. Is the green revolution CIA sponsored? Have we forgotten how media and politicians (Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney) have accused both Afghanistan and Iraq of having weapons of mass destruction? And are we gonna fall in the same trap, 3 times?
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 3 times.... ???
All videos are annotated, so just click a video and be taken directly to the full length YT video.
Article 1;
"Iran's plan will probably be stopped by a regime change or, if there is no other choice, by recourse to force to deprive Iran of its nuclear arms production capabilities," Yaalon told a security conference in Herzliya.

Article 2;
whilst Israel and the US are on a war footing they may also possible carry out strikes on Gaza, Lebanon and Syria during 2010. As with all conflicts the whole purpose is to divide and conquer and Israel is right in the middle of a very unstable area. Should they choose to carry out such action this could well see the end of Israel.

Dick Cheney Forgets His Oath?
I'm not posting much lately am I ? I should really check out how I can post stuff on here via my phone, that would be neat.
N-E-way.
I've demonstrated my objections against Dick Cheney earlier, here is some random youtube guy who feels the same but since has watched Dick Cheney closely, whereas I did other stuff in the meantime.
The video explains itself, I happen to think that it's a deliberate act and that it's a big deal. (listen closely and consciously)
there are REALarticles in the making. Just don't get round to finishing them.
I always seem to be starting new projects, I never finish, why is that ?

What GNP means
By Robert F. Kennedy
"Too much and too long, we seem to have surrendered community excellence and community values in the mere accumulation of material things. Our gross national product ... if we should judge America by that - counts air pollution and cigarette advertising, and ambulances to clear our highways of carnage. It counts special locks for our doors and the jails for those who break them. It counts the destruction of our redwoods and the loss of our natural wonder in chaotic sprawl. It counts napalm and the cost of a nuclear warhead, and armored cars for police who fight riots in our streets. It counts Whitman's rifle and Speck's knife, and the television programs which glorify violence in order to sell toys to our children.
"Yet the gross national product does not allow for the health of our children, the quality of their education, or the joy of their play. It does not include the beauty of our poetry or the strength of our marriages; the intelligence of our public debate or the integrity of our public officials. It measures neither our wit nor our courage; neither our wisdom nor our learning; neither our compassion nor our devotion to our country; it measures everything, in short, except that which makes life worthwhile. And it tells us everything about America except why we are proud that we are Americans."

Cool story on a guy and his motives to choose to live without money.
I'd be worried seeing so many parallels between his and my thoughts on life, were it not for my need to own guitars, cd's and movies.

UN report on glaciers melting is based on 'speculation'
During the copenhagen summit I wanted to post so much..
Anyway, today in the news:
UN report on glaciers melting is based on 'speculation'
Telegraph
Two years ago, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) made the claim which it said was based on detailed research into the impact of global warming.
But the IPCC have since admitted it was based on a report written in a science journal and even the scientist who was the subject of the original story admits it was not based on fact.
The article, in the New Scientist, was not even based on a research paper - it evolved from a short telephone interview with the academic.
Dr Syed Hasnain, an Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, said that the claim was "speculation" and was not supported by any formal research.
Professor Murari Lal, who oversaw the chapter on glaciers in the IPCC report, said he would recommend that the claim about glaciers be dropped.
The IPCC's reliance on Hasnain's 1999 interview has been highlighted by Fred Pearce, the journalist who carried out the original interview.
Mr Pearce said he rang Hasnain in India in 1999 after spotting his claims in an Indian magazine.
He said that Dr Hasnain made the assertion about 2035 but admitted it was campaigning report rather than an academic paper that was reviewed by a panel of expert peers.
Despite this it rapidly became a key source for the IPCC when Prof Lal and his colleagues came to write the section on the Himalayas.
When finally published, the IPCC report did give its source as the WWF study but went further, suggesting the likelihood of the glaciers melting was "very high".
The IPCC defines this as having a probability of greater than 90 per cent.
The report read: "Glaciers in the Himalaya are receding faster than in any other part of the world and, if the present rate continues, the likelihood of them disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high if the Earth keeps warming at the current rate."
However, glaciologists find such figures inherently ludicrous, pointing out that most Himalayan glaciers are hundreds of feet thick and could not melt fast enough to vanish by 2035 unless there was a huge global temperature rise. The maximum rate of decline in thickness seen in glaciers at the moment is two to three feet a year and most are far lower.

Man confronts Bush senior on his role in killing hundreds of thousands
Man confronts Bush senior on his role in killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. I'm not supporting him, but I like how he spoke his mind and stood up for probably millions of people around the world.
Q: What happens when you confront an ex-president and former head of the CIA?
A: The Secret Service visit you at home.
Surprisingly good manners eh ?
In the meantime a lot of stuff is happening in dutch politics. It has to do with our participation in the "war on terror". So tonight I'll be flipping all the newschannels to find out what;s happening in this country of mine. And if I'm angry enough in the morning I'll swim 2k's in the swimming pool.

Little by little we are going nowhere
I was trying for months to write a good article on Afghanistan but this picture will do.
I was lucky enough to speak to some people from Afghanistan when they came to stay in the Netherlands. They were alone, their family members were murdered, so I might be a bit biased..
Just look at their history. For some reason or another other nations have always been bullying Afghanistan. It's a way of life for afghans, it's embedded in their culture.
But why do nations throughout history bully Afghanistan ?
The underwear bomber; Failling again
The British government warned the US last year about this man who turned out to be the underwear bomber. The father of the terrorist reported him to the authorities. When family reports this is extremely serious because of the bond involved.. Especially when that father happens to be a elected official.
So hold on. Wasn't this exactly what happened on 9-11 only different?
Up to 19 different government agencies around the world warned the US before 9-11 and nothing could be done.
So after 9-11 billions of dollars, tons of regulations were enforced world wide and hundreds of civil liberties have been restricted only to find that the system is still failing in the exact same area 8 years later?
Think of the people in the news stories that were put on terror watchlists and were NOT allowed to fly. Among them children and public officials ! Then this nigerian guy comes along and all of a sudden everything is cool ?
Funny story. Me and this terrorist were boarding planes & checking in at the same time at the same airport ! I also was taking a flight on Christmas day from Schiphol ! It's great because this greatly decreases the odds that I will come ever this close to me being the victim of a terrorist act.
If you've got time maybe you'd like to listen to Alex Jones (conspiracy). I rarely listen to him, but his views are refreshing and are above all, nowhere to be found in the mainstream media (BLEH!)! So it's good to check him out from time to time, just to see what's going on.
